Is it possible to make a difference every day without taking any extra time out of your already busy schedule? The answer to that question is yes. Recycling does not have to be an extremely difficult task. There are some simple things that you can do every day to make a change in the world. As a major part of pollution prevention each state has its own regulations on recycling. Michigan; for example; must provide residents in a community of over 10,000 people with curbside recycling. If there is no way for the state to provide curbside recycling there has to be, at most, one drop-off location.
Pop cans, plastic grocery bags, empty cake boxes, paper, and the like can all be recycled. Setting a container up in your kitchen or pantry for recycling can be a good place to start. Then the habit of checking your plastic or paper for their recyclable markings becomes a normal routine. When it comes to recycling newspaper, old mail, or pop cans, businesses such as grocery stores or schools in your area provide special bins for these recyclable objects. Each pop can, or bottle has its recyclable value written on it. Not only would beginning to recycle these objects leave you with a green thumb, recycling cans can leave you with a little extra money in your pocket. Get involved and make a difference.
